The daily emergence of budget smartphones that tend to question the need for high end expensive smartphones is no longer a surprise.

Among  such budget smartphones that have emerged to make expensive high end devices not so special is the all new Tecno phantom 8.

The tecno phantom 8 may not be as cheap as you would expect, but its referred to as a budget smartphone because of the price difference between it and the Samsung galaxy note 8.

In this article I am going to be doing a brief specification comparison to further buttress my point.

Without wasting more time, let us move straight to the comparison.

Tecno Phantom 8

The tecno phantom 8 is  5.7 inch in size, it features a metal build that's a bit different from what tecno users are use to. Its metal build has a glossy finish, tecno call it's design the diamond fire design, as it appears to a be shinny plastic from afar.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8

The Samsung galaxy Note 8 is 6.3 inch in size.
The note 8 features a 6.3 inch quad HD super amoled  curved infinity display with a screen resolution that is a reminisce of the S8, I say reminisce because the 2960x 1440 resolution on the note 8  facilitates a taller display.

The Samsung galaxy note 8 is wrapped in glass with an all metal frame build.

The  price difference between the phantom 8 and the Note 8 has great disparity between them.
The design, display and build of the note 8 is far better than the phantom 8's.

The helio P25 processor may be able to measure up with the snapdragon 835 processor a bit but the snapdragon 835 processor is not all about performance, the features on this chip makes it better than the helio P25 processor.

What actually brings  the Phantom 8 and the Note 8 is the similarities in the specs sheet.
Though the phantom 8 has similar spec sheet with the note 8, actual usage will actually reveal their disparities.

Verdict: The note 8 is obviously and is better than the phantom 8.

But the BUDGET factor plays a big role here and gives the phantom 8 an edge over the note 8.

Just think about this; in reality the average user doesn't make use of all the features of the note 8.
The average smartphone user who takes BUDGET  as a very big deal can get an experience with phantom 8 that is  close to what you will get on the note 8.

For this I will say the phantom 8 is a best buy.
