Googles pixel has brought lots of developers out of resting places, an example of such developer is XDA.
After the demise of the Samsung galaxy note 7,Google pixel phone was crowned the king of android phones. Having lots of apps and features exclusive to it.
Developers have been making such exclusive apps and features available to all android devices especially rooted ones, hence trying to make the google pixel a little less special.

XDA developers recently created an app that allows non users of the Google pixel to have access to finger print shortcuts for quick action.
Fingerprint Quick Action was created by XDA developer ztc1997 and allows the fingerprint scanner to be used to bring down the notification shade, return to the home screen or put the device to sleep.
This app doesn’t require root access to install and operate, but you want to use the fingerprint reader to turn off your phone display, you will need root permissions.
This app works on any android phone which possess a finger print reader running on android 6.0 marshmallow and upwards.
