12 effective methods for testing tech before launch

12 effective methods for testing tech before launch

Website and app development is a necessary facet in today’s tech-based company culture. But as technological developments speed along, so too do the strings of potential bugs in new tech code.

To discover the best methods for testing a product for errors before launch, I asked a panel of entrepreneurs from YEC the following question:

When developing or updating your website or app, what’s one tool or method you rely on to test the front end before a launch?

Their best answers are below:

1. Rapid design methodology

Before any update, we first identify and diagnose the current problems to justify the reasons for making the update. To diagnose problems, we use tools for click-and-scroll tracking as well as user session recording. Other in-company tech provides eye-tracking heat maps to show where visitors look as well as form analytics to learn how your forms are performing. Then we design based on data. – Nick Chasinov, Teknicks

2. Beta/staging environment

No matter how small the change or fix or improvement, we never upload it straight to the live site — we always test thoroughly on our staging environment. Make sure you have this staging area so that you can make any changes that you like without disturbing the public domain. – Alex Miller, Upgraded Points

3. Qualitative observational research

Have your design team put mockups into a prototype and get them in front of unbiased users in your target demographic. Ask the user to perform tasks and see where they would naturally click/tap. Make sure to watch and see if anything confuses them. Adjust your designs as needed. This simple process will save you from retooling designs after being coded, which will save you lots of time and money. – Tony Scherba, Yeti

4. User testing

No amount of automated testing will ever be able to predict the weird things humans will do on your website. Doing user testing is an important first step, but only if you can bring in a diverse group of users. Users of different ages and abilities and with different devices will do different things, finding edge cases you don’t expect. The wider the group of testers you can work with, the better. – Thursday Bram, The Responsible Communication Style Guide

5. Blisk.io

Blisk.io is a great tool for testing out the front end prior to launch. It’s a web browser specifically for developers that shows you how websites render on different devices. Not only is it beneficial for testing what your site will look like via local host, but it will also notify you of any bugs on various devices once your site has launched. –Syed Balkhi, WPBeginner

6. BrowserStack

BrowserStack is an interactive service and tests websites across a large number of browsers and devices. It’s private and secure and it has app testing services available as well. – Andrew Schrage, Money Crashers Personal Finance

7. Google Lighthouse

Google Lighthouse is a performance-testing suite included in the Chrome browser’s developer tools. It provides metrics that are useful for gauging real-world performance, such as time-to-first-paint and the point at which the site becomes interactive. It also throttles network and CPU performance, which makes it handy for checking how quickly a site loads on mobile devices. – Vik Patel, Future Hosting

8. Selenium

We use web/apps testing framework Selenium, which helps us automate and speed up testing of websites/apps on multiple browser platforms. Apart from testing tools, we have a staging environment which our employees actually use while working. This usability testing helps a lot since it gives direct input on how real users use our websites/apps. – Liam Martin, TimeDoctor.com

9. Split testing

The best way to determine whether or not your website or app is optimized to its fullest potential is by split testing them. With split testing, businesses can make subtle, but significant, changes to variables such as button placement, fonts, templates, forms and menus before pushing them live. The test results will offer valuable insights regarding how these changes will increase conversions. – Reuben Yonatan, GetVoIP

10. Social media groups’ feedback

As an e-commerce company, we are constantly making changes to our website and testing new ideas. I am in several Slack channels and Facebook groups where I share my updates and get critical feedback. I find that the smaller, more intimate groups will provide much deeper feedback. I try to pick people who are not in my industry so they can test it from a true user perspective. – Brandon Stapper, Nonstop Signs

11. User acceptance testing

To ensure code launches are bug-free, we carry out extensive user acceptance testing. This is critical to ensure customers will not come across bugs and errors that might hamper their experience. We have a nontechnical team run through common user scenarios with no guidance and see if they hit any barriers. This ensures we have delivered a good code release without errors or critical user paths. – Baruch Labunski, Rank Secure

12. Manual quality assurance

We always have our product manager and tech team test the new version of our app or website before it goes live. Who better knows the product? Having someone who has in-depth knowledge of how the website or app should work can usually find bugs that need to be fixed before the new version is launched. – Brian David Crane, Caller Smart Inc.

9 Easy Ways To Send Money

9 Easy Ways To Send Money

At some point, everyone owes something to someone. Maybe he owes a lunch to a colleague, or a friend bought him a ticket from the game or a friend sold him his DVD player. You can even hire independent professionals abroad and want to pay for them. Anyway, why not send money online immediately? Therefore, today we will see some simple ways to transfer money in any international, local or one-day bank account.

1. Wire transfer

Making a bank transfer is as simple as making a phone call. Enter the name of the recipient, the bank account number, the SWIFT code (international transfer) and the bank routing number of the receiving bank. You also need to have your own bank account. Alternatively, you will need a computer or phone with an Internet connection to log in to your account. Or call or visit the bank. Determine the number of electronic transfers. Keep in mind that banks charge a small fee for such transfers, which may vary if they are sent internationally.

2. Request for cash for parties

If your recipient has an account in the Square Cash application, you can also send money online immediately. On the other hand, you may or may not have an account here. However, you need to know the URL of the recipient's box label. This is a great way to send money online immediately, but it is not available outside of the United States. Other main applications include Venmo.

3. PayPal

This is the best way to transfer money internationally or nationally, and you do not need to have a PayPal account. If you do not have an account, ask the recipient to create a PayPal link and send it to them. You can also use your SignUp link to send money with a credit card. The advantage of using this method is that you can send a large amount of money internationally, and the transaction is quite fast. PayPal also has its Xoom service that can send money worldwide, recharge mobile phones and pay bills.

4. Western Union

There are several options for Western Union. You can use a debit or credit card to transfer money to other national or international bank accounts, Western Union agents, mobile wallets or from your bank account to the location of your bank / agent account. The cost of these transactions ranges from $ 5 to $ 10. Cash withdrawal using this method is considered the fastest. In terms of shortcomings, this method of using a debit card to send money online is quite inconvenient for a small amount.

5. TransferWise

Most banks charge up to 5% of the hidden fees. TransferWise is almost 8 times cheaper. The advantage of using this method to send remittances internationally is that they use the average or intermediate market exchange rate between buyers and sellers. One disadvantage is that without online chat, they also have the greatest transfer restrictions. Read your comments before using TransferWise to send funds.

6. Check

Personal checks are the safest and easiest way to send money to people. This is a safe method for payers, since personal checks can be canceled at any time. However, there may be some inconvenience for the recipient because your bank may or may not accept foreign checks. In addition, the beneficiary may have to pay the exchange rate. This method is also slow due to the need to send the check by mail. Some checks are only valid for a certain period of time that exceeds this period.

7. Remittances to the email address

Many banks offer this convenient way to send money to people who do not have a bank account. Log in to your account and go to the "Transfer" tab. Choose the option to send money to your email ID or phone number. This is a low cost way to send money.

8. PoPmoney

You can use your mobile phone to send money to anyone at PoPMoney. It's simple and secure, and you can register directly on your website or through your bank account. You can use PopMoney to send money, send a request for payment and even collect money from the group. It is also easy to set up regular payments with this system.

9. WorldRemit

Are you looking for the best way to be simple, fast, cheap and remitted internationally? Try WorldRemit because they offer a free first transfer.

As you can see, there are many ways to send money to someone who does not have a bank account, online or with a debit card. However, all this requires your attention. Explore a variety of options so you can make informed decisions.

Easy Ways to Buy Bitcoins

Easy Ways to Buy Bitcoins

Bitcoin has been around for a decade, but they are still a technical complexity that many people do not understand. Most people want to know the various options to buy bitcoin, some of them enter a state of analysis and prevent them from continuing. Many people even stole their bitcoins, and some were cheated in the process. So today we are looking for ways to buy Bitcoin safely without being fooled.
Easy Ways to Buy Bitcoins

Get Bitcoin Wallet (it's free!)

The Bitcoin wallet is just a place to store Bitcoin. This step can be very complicated in itself, because there are more than 20 different bitcoin wallets, so you should know which type to buy. In a sense, a wallet is nothing more than a software tool or a website where you can "store" your cryptocurrency. You can choose a separate wallet for several users or third parties. Again, you can choose a physical or paper wallet. The wallet option can be very large, but keep in mind that you can change your wallet at any time. Choosing your wallet also depends on other factors, such as whether you need to access your phone's wallet or whether you will become a significant Bitcoin user. Some reliable Bitcoin wallets can subscribe to Trezor, CoinBase, Coin Mama and BlockChain. The wallet is basically a public key; It is not necessary that you hide it. You can also download the wallet.

Choose a payment method

The key to choosing the correct way to buy a bitcoin payment is to know the refund. A refund is a guarantee provided by a trading site such as PayPal to a buyer who claims not to have received the merchandise, in this case Bitcoin. Understand that when it comes to cryptocurrencies, you do not have physical assets. This means that, as a buyer, you can pay one through PayPal, get coins and, a few days later, claim to PayPal that you never received a coin. PayPal can not verify this fact. Therefore, this currency exchange is full of risks. Today there are different ways to buy Bitcoin with a credit or debit card, PayPal and Skrill, and bank transfer. Keep in mind that most sellers prefer to sell Bitcoin by bank transfer. The advantage of using wire transfers is that many operations sell bitcoin in a lesser way than PayPal. However, the disadvantage of this method of buying bitcoin is that you have to wait longer to spend the coin. You can also buy bitcoin in cash. This is the fastest and cheapest way to buy Bitcoin. Some websites allow nearby buyers and sellers to come face to face. However, this method requires that you physically meet a stranger. So always be very careful when using this method of buying bitcoins.

Tips for buying Bitcoin with PayPal

  • Exchange through VirWox or virtual world. Indirectly they allow you to buy Bitcoin by first buying the Second Life Linden Dollars virtual currency.
  • Open the Circle account. You can also use the PayPal MasterCard Debit Card. Log in to Circle and PayPal accounts.
  • Use Bitcoin to buy bitcoin.

Choose an exchange

You can buy bitcoin in several exchanges. You can choose a trading platform, an intermediary or a non-executable exchange. Be sure to read the comments of the exchange before choosing. You can do it easily with a search engine. Be sure to read the "About Us" page of the exchange. It is a good idea to join a conversation that involves team members. If possible, use Alexa to see the ranking of the exchange: the lower the rank, the better. Also understand the fees charged for these transactions, the processing time and the withdrawal time.

Use the Bitcoin forum to learn

The Bitcoin forum is a good place to ask questions and raise concerns and concerns. Many members of these forums help guide newbies in this topic. The Bitcoin talk is a good forum.

My bitcoin

Bitcoin mining allows you to generate bitcons without having to buy them. Any computer can be used to extract coins. This is a very technical process, so read it a little. You should learn some technical terms. In addition, you need a computer with Internet and Java installed. Once you have finished, visit this website. Create an account here. Go to the tool and get the latest updates. This will download the file to your computer so you can start extracting Bitcoin. After the download, follow the simple instructions. The program will work without problems in any operating system. However, this method of mining Bitcoin is very slow and can overheat or damage the device. To speed things up, you can invest in ASIC bit miners, which are powerful processors for mining.

Break and steal bitcoin

This is the unethical way to get bitcoin. As a buyer, keep in mind that hackers can use this method to steal your bitcoin. They use cloning sites, mobile apps, Wi-Fi hackers and phishing to get their bitcoin. In a few words: you do not want to get bitcoin in this way, and you do not want your hackers using these strategies to lose hard earned coins. Therefore, be sure to follow the security rules and not be a victim of downloading funky software. Protect your device with a PIN or a tactile or front identification to avoid downloading a part.

Starting from a small place

If you plan to use a credit card to buy Bitcoin, use Coinbase or CoinMama. These sites are intuitive and easy to use. You can also use Circle, another popular and easy to use boot that facilitates the purchase of Bitcoin. It always starts small.

Summarize

  • Always check the credibility of your Bitcoin sellers
  • Record all
  • When dealing with sellers / individuals, wait for confirmation before payment.
  • Use hosted or third-party services
  • If you use an exchange, do not leave the money there. Move it to your personal wallet as soon as possible.

This brief guide may not answer all your questions about Bitcoin, but it will prepare you for your trip to the digital world.

VERDICT

Ok probably you have scanned through the specifications of both smartphones and in your mind you are saying both phones are the same, well you may just be right in a way, but not all the way.

Something to NOTE here, is the fact that both infinix and tecno are brought into existence by transsion holdings under the command of Nnamdi Eziegbo, the Nigerian entrepreneur behind these brands.

Both smartphones have the same processors, ram size, storage.

Where things actually vary is the battery size, design and camera. Not much of a difference I guess.

Something here to NOTE is the fact that infinix laid so much emphasis on the zero 5's Bokeh effect also known as portrait mode,on both the rear and front facing camera, where as tecno didn't say anything about it being featured on the phantom 8.
This fact may cover up for its lower front camera size when compared to the tecno phantom 8 20mp front camera.

That may also be an advantage the zero 5 has over the phantom 8, but I don't really think a typical Nigerian will purchase a smartphone because of a camera effect which doesn't involve a higher camera sensor.

If you decide to go for the infinix zero 5 over the tecno phantom 8, it could be because of the larger battery the infinix zero 5 features, your the love you have for the infinix brand.

Price for the infinix zero 5 has not been confirmed yet, but a leak shows that the infinix zero 5 costs about $305 which is about 111 thousand naira as opposed to the 128 thousand price tag on the phantom 8.

You may also want to go for the zero 5 because of it's cheaper price tag, if this leaked price tag is correct.

For those who care about upgrade of OS, just so you know, tecno doesn't have a great history of sending software updates for android versions, instead they manufacture a new device with the latest operating system.

Don't get me twisted , both devices are great.

But The winner of this comparison is already lucid to you.

The winner of this comparison is the infinix zero 5.

Despite the infinite zero 5 managed to have an edge over the tecno phantom 8, I think between the phantom 8 and the zero 5 is the battle of fans. The brand with higher fans sells more, since both smartphones are very similar.
