Ingredients
2 tablespoons honey2 tablespoons sweet chilli sauce
6 tablespoons tomato sauce
1/2 cup water
2 chicken breasts, cut into long strips
2 tablespoons soy sauce
2 teaspoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon olive oil
7 tablespoons plain flour
3 tablespoons cornflour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
Vegetable oil for shallow frying
Sesame seeds and steamed rice to serve
Method
- Place honey, sweet chilli sauce, tomato sauce and water in a small saucepan and boil until thick.
- Place chicken strips in a separate bowl and add soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil and olive oil and stir to combine. Leave to marinate for one hour.
- Place flour, cornflour, salt and pepper in another bowl and stir to combine.
- Take a chicken strip, coat it in flour mixture and dust off excess, set aside. Repeat with remaining chicken pieces.
- Heat vegetable oil in frypan and heat oil to hot. Add chicken pieces and cook for 12 minutes or until cooked through, turning occasionally,
- Place cooked chicken pieces in a bowl and add hot honey sauce mixture, stirring to coat all the chicken with sauce.
- Place steamed rice in serving bowls and top and chicken pieces. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve.
