How To Control Your PC using Your Android Device

In the world of technology mobility is King, because the main essence of technology is to make carrying out certain activities easier thus making life easy and stress free.

Technology is all about finding creative ways to be lazy.

In this article I am going to give steps needed to making your Android smartphone an extension of your computer.

This article contains tutorials on;

1. How to play games that are on your PC via your Android smartphone.
2. ‎How to use your smartphone as a remote to control videos casted from your PC to your television.
3. ‎How to use your smartphone to turn on your PC.

1. HOW TO PLAY GAMES THAT ARE ON YOUR PC VIA YOUR ANDROID SMARTPHONE.
The  procedure to carrying out this task may sound tidious but in real life it's far from being difficult.

First of all you will need to download an app called REMOTE R. Download the windows version for your PC and also download the Android edition for your Android smartphone.

Then you will need to turn on the app on your PC and turn on then turn on the app on your Android smartphone.

Next step is to search for available PC's using the remote R app installed on your Android device on your Android smartphone.

Once your have located your desired PC, you need to  tap the connect button. Once you have been able to synchronize your Android smartphone with your desired PC, you will be presented with a list of games already installed on your PC from which your are to make your choice from.

Games will play at the same frame rates your PC plays them.

2. HOW TO USE YOUR ANDROID SMARTPHONE AS A REMOTE TO CONTROL VIDEOS CASTED FROM YOUR PC TO YOUR TELEVISION.

Like in this first tutorial, the whole process is centered on an app that connects your smartphone to your PC.

In this case we will be using the UNIFIED REMOTE APP.

Again just like in the first tutorial, you will need to download the app on your PC as well on your Android smartphone.

Once you have successfully done that, the next step is to turn on the app on both your android smartphone and PC.
Use the unified remote app on your android device to search for your desired PC and then connect.

Once you have successful connected and your PC and Android smartphone has being synchronized, you will be presented with an interface that let's you pause, play, rewind and skip bideosy casted from your PC to your television.

3. HOW TO TURN ON YOUR PC USING ANDROID SMARTPHONE VIA LAN.

Before you will be able to do this, your PC must be in a lower powered state like sleep mode.
Also your PC needs to be plugged to an ethernet port.

Unlike the other tutorials your needed app will only be downloaded on your android smartphone. The app in this case is called WAKE YOUR PC ON LAN REMOTELY.

This app can listen out for magic packets sent our from a home network and use it as a trigger to turn on your PC.

Before you can do this, you will need to turn on or enable some features on your PC.

1. Enable wake up lan support on pc BIOS; Goto yout BIOS setup, under security enable wake up lan support.
2.Boot windows up, then go to device manager, expand network adapter settings, right click on your network card and select properties, then navigate to advanced tab and enable allow the device to wake the computer and also enable only a magic packet to wake the computer.

After you have successfully carried out these procedures, put your PC in sleep mode, open the wake up your PC remotely app, you will see all the computers connected to your home network listed from which you are to select the one you want to turn on.
